Super Simple DIY Planner Magnets

These super simple planner magnets are an easy way to add personality to your planner. This tutorial will walk you through making your own planner magnet.

I recently bought the Miss Maker Happy Planner and started setting it up for the year.  While I was playing with all of the new stickers, I found quite a few I wouldn’t want to use only once.  Using the stickers I really like as bookmarks is the perfect way to use them throughout the year.  See my 2019 Miss Maker Happy Planner review here.

Planner magnet materials.Materials:

  • Magnet Sheet
  • Stickers

Tools:

  • Scissors

Instructions:

I used Avery Printable Magnet Sheets (3270) for this project.  You can either print directly on the magnets and cut them out or cut them to size and add embellishments.  I like the idea of having magnets that match the theme of my planner so I used the Miss Maker Classic size Value Sticker pack for my magnets but you could use your favorite stickers.  You could also use scrapbook paper to cover the magnet.

Cut and fold the magnet.

Pick the stickers you like, you will need to cover the front and back of the magnet.  Measure the stickers and cut the magnet to fit.   You will fold the magnet later so make sure your magnet is long enough to fold over the page.  This magnet was cut to 1.5” x 5” then folded in half 2.5” from the bottom.

Add stickers.Fold the magnet in half so the paper is on the outside. The magnets need to be on the inside to attract each other.  Add your stickers to the magnet.  I layered mine so I wouldn’t have any white space.

This is one of those ridiculously easy crafts that you can let your imagination run wild with.  You could use anything from scrapbook paper to stamps or markers with this project, though I would probably skip the glitter.

I would love to see how your project turns out. Post pictures to Instagram #boutsofspontaneouscrafting
